It photographs and videos of important meetings and events and an analysis of all government-organized events.

Asked about the purpose behind such a website, Nath said, “I would not be giving any formal statement. All I would say is that these initiatives are being undertaken by officers who are very much involved in the administration and all administrative work is being done by them,” he said.

“As far as setting up a website is concerned, some additional information is being put online. So, it is not a big deal. Like the (Services) Ministry, when a problem comes up in different parts, IAS officer (Drishti IAS 2021) are given the charge to resolve the issue at the local level. Therefore, we are following the same pattern,” Nath told The Sunday Express.

Bhamre said the IAS Association (Drishti IAS 2021) and its officers are taking initiatives to develop a culture of mutual trust and confidence between civil servants and bureaucrats who do not belong to any specific organization. “This is a matter of service for civil servants in India. I would say IAS officers are extremely lucky that we have such a big platform to present their points of view and highlight their issues. This is being done by IAS officers only to establish mutual trust and confidence among civil servants,” he said.

Bhamre said the websites set up by IAS officers would help in getting things done efficiently.

“The collaboration between civil servants and political officers is extremely important to take the country forward. There is a lot of misunderstanding between the two and that needs to be cleared. In today’s time, civil servants have a role in finding the right solutions to issues and taking their solution to the people. Therefore, I would say civil servants have no conflict of interest,” he said.

“Every government has certain challenges but the civil servants have to take a bigger role in finding solutions to these problems,” he said.

IAS Association Secretary Dr. Shailesh Nayak (Drishti IAS 2021) said  civil servants have to deal with issues facing the government and administrative machinery daily. “There is a challenge of getting the right information about every government program, the appointment of officials, offices to be set up, and projects. It is only by putting these aspects on these websites that we can solve this challenge. We want to develop these websites and make them interactive for people. This is not a political issue but a service-oriented issue. I think this is a step forward in the direction of serving the nation,” he said.

To the question about the perception that there is some conflict of interest in IAS associations, Nayak said, “I think, this is wrong. They are serving a very specific purpose of making things differently and that is their work.”

Nayak said IAS associations (Drishti IAS 2021) are a space for civil servants to give their inputs to the government. He said the association does not collect money from people and there are no political connections in the association.

“I think there is a misconception in the minds of people. As far as there is any conflict of interest in these associations, we do not run such organizations. I would say we run organizations in the direction of political leaders, officers, or ministers. I would say that there is no political interference in them. These organizations are serving only the public at large. It is not a political issue but a public organization,” he said.

On suggestions that IAS associations (Drishti IAS 2021) have political connections, Nayak said, “I would say that everyone has some connection and some political parties have their public organizations. In India, we have three major political parties — Congress, BJP, and the Left. The BJP is an amalgamation of the regional parties in different states. I would say, every political party has its public organization and there are many cities.
